Dave Godowsky | Dietrich Strause co-bill: Lizard Lounge, Cambridge, MA

I’ll be playing harp in both Dave and Dietrich’s bands!

Dave Godowsky + Dietrich Strause with Sean Trischka (drums), Mairi Chaimbeul (harp), Sean Staples (mandolin)

Singer/Songwriter  Dave Godowsky assembled an all-star crew to be his support band for a series of shows a few months back.  He now reprises it for a one night only Lizard Lounge show that features Dave’s signature poignant yet funny songs about life’s oddities and truisms as well as this incredible list of players.

Dietrich Strause’s songs are a mix of timeless melody, literate lyricism, and a “virtuosic command of imagery.” (The Artery, WBUR) In less than one year Strause released two albums — How Cruel That Hunger Binds and Dietrich Strause & The Blue Ribbons. His blend of mid-century modern pop and atomic-age folk has drawn comparisons to M. Ward and a young Paul Simon and has garnered him invitations to support folk luminaries such as Sarah Jarosz and Anais Mitchell, to indie pop acts like Darlingside and Lake Street Dive.

Dietrich Strause with special guests: Jocie Adams, Billy Beard, Màiri Chaimbeul, Zachariah Hickman, Sam Kassirer, Rose Polenzani, Annie Bartlett, Mina Kim & Kate Goldstein

Dietrich Strause’s songs are a mix of timeless melody, literate lyricism, and a “virtuosic command of imagery” (WBUR The ARTery).

In less than one year, Strause released two albums—How Cruel That Hunger Bindsand Dietrich Strause & The Blue Ribbons—proving himself to be one of the most prolific and eclectic writers and performers in New England. His blend of mid-century modern pop and atomic-age folk, backed by an all-star band, has drawn comparisons to M.
